Maternity Style: Dresses and Bottoms

I found out I was pregnant at 3.5 weeks. That weekend I ran out to Gap to buy a pair of maternity jeans that my sister-in-law had purchased over Christmas which were super cute. Why the rush? When we went shopping together at Christmas the Gap informed us they were discontinuing that jean. I was determined to get a pair and snagged 1 of the last 2 available.

As for the rest of my maternity wardrobe, I have been very blessed to have family buy me things and take me shopping. Here are a few of the essentials that I really enjoy having.

2 pairs of jeans. Mine are both from the Gap and are super comfy and stylish. I wear skinny jeans 99.9% of the time and decided to continue the look during pregnancy. I would recommend one demi/short panel jean for those early "am I just bloated or really pregnant?" days and a full panel for those "I'm really pregnant" days. Unfortunately, my body shape didn't allow me to buy just a full panel jean because there was some serious sagging from behind during those pre-big belly weeks. There are other options out there like hair ties and belly bands, however when Gap puts their jeans on sale they are worth snagging. I really enjoyed have true maternity jeans to wear that I knew would stay in place.

Demi Panel: 1969 demi panel always skinny jean from Gap Maternity

Full Panel: As I mentioned previously, they discontinued the exact ones I have. However, they now offer a very similar pair called the 1969 full panel legging jeans from Gap Maternity. Same look but more of a "jegging" than a jean material.
Shopping strategy: wait till a holiday weekend {even a random holiday} when they put jeans on sale and get them up to 40% off!

Liz Lange for Target Maternity Dark Denim Shorts

These were a gift and the picture makes them super unflattering, however they are really cute when you roll/cuff the bottom of the shorts. Perfect for tossing on during the summer when I really need shorts on instead of a dress.

Supersoft Cropped Leggings from Gap Maternity

When they say "supersoft" they are not kidding. These are the most comfortable leggings I've ever tried on. Plus they are holding up to lots of wear. I have both the black and dark gray. I love pairing them with long flowing tops and will definitely wear them post baby.

Maxi dresses

Two of my favorite that I have are the Strapless Maternity Tomato Red Maxi Dress from Pickles & Ice Cream and the Printed Strappy Maxi Dress from Gap Maternity. Apparently I'm into reds and pinks this summer!

The advantage to being due in the fall is that almost my entire closet of dresses will fit throughout the summer. This sounded great when I was allowed to go places. Oh well!

What are you favorite maternity dresses and bottoms? What was your maternity style?
