Nursing Necessities

You can prepare and prepare for baby to come {and have all the time in the world to think you have it right when on bed rest}, however ultimately there will be things you wish you had or need to run out and borrow or purchase immediately. For me, I was not well prepared with the nursing accessories. Sure I had my breast pump and nursing tanks, however little did I know I needed a lot more! Here are some essentials I ended up getting the first few weeks.

1. Earth Mama Angel Baby Natural Nipple Butter
{Originally I had the lanolin cream that is popular, however found that it was too thick. Someone suggested this butter and it is kinder on the body to apply. What's even better its that it is all-natural and does not have to be removed before breastfeeding.}
2. My Brest Friend Pillow
{Back saver! So thankful one of my friends loves it enough to have two and lend me one}
3. Nursing stool
{Another back saver. My ottoman is just too high for propping your legs up when feeding.}
4. Medela hydrogel pads for breastfeeding soreness
{Serious miracle workers if you get damaged or bruised. The lactation consultant gave me these and wow they are amazing.}
5. Nursing bras like this and this {not pictured}
{Glad I waited on this one as my size didn't change till my milk came in}
6. Nursing pads
{Can we say "leakage"??? These are absolutely necessary.}

Hopefully this will help some of you be more prepared than I was!
