Anniversary Staycation

We had a blast uptown this weekend celebrating our fifth wedding anniversary. Has it really been that long?

Little Lady went to her grandma's which included pool time, 4 walks, blueberry pancakes, and lots of love. She had a blast, of course.

We spent the afternoon poolside and met another super nice couple who had just celebrated their 33rd wedding anniversary. In celebration of "young couples being married" they insisted on buying us drinks.

In the evening we went out to a fantastic italian restaurant and then hit up a chocolate bar for gelato.

While sitting outside eating our gelato we made another "friend" with a very intoxicated guest for a wedding at the hotel who proceeded to spill half of her life story {sadly he husband is in federal prison and she was complaining about having to go back to work}, then she invited us to the wedding reception, and then she invited us to her cousin's birthday party next weekend an hour and a half away. We made nice for about five minutes before wishing her well and going on our way. It was pretty entertaining.

The next morning we enjoyed going out for a good breakfast {that's biscuits and gravy with fried chicken and a sweet potato pancake}. Yes, we really like to eat.

It was truly a wondering weekend of spending quality time with the hubby {without the baby}. I did miss her, but really didn't have any anxiety or crazy feelings because I knew she was in good time and having a blast.

We will see how I do being away from her for 5 days in October when I go to visit my brother. Five days away is a little more intimidating.
